Antonio Manco
Author, director, independent producer
Sapiens Production is the production company founded in Zürich by Antonio Manco.
Antonio trained at Ipotesi Cinema with Ermanno Olmi. For twenty years he has made documentaries and fiction between Italy, Spain and Latin America — Argentina above all — often with the support of public funding. Today he lives and works in Switzerland, where his new film, Sulle tracce del Prete Rosso, is taking shape in the Verzasca valley.
He writes, directs and produces his own projects, working with different professionals and producers depending on the story — and brings the same eye to the stories of companies and institutions.

How we work
Every project finds its own crew. Depending on the story, we work with cinematographers, editors, composers, designers and other producers — in Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Latin America. A small core, and a network chosen project by project. It keeps us light, and it keeps every film honest.

For over fifteen years we have worked with the human rights film festival network — first with the Festival del Cinema dei Diritti Umani in Naples, and more recently with its partner festival in Denver, USA.
